Asad Berani

Co-founder and Partner at Dekos Capital, Asad is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm’s investment activities.

Prior to co-founding Dekos, Asad worked at Prophet Equity, an operationally focused middle market private equity firm. At Prophet, Asad provided operational and strategic guidance to managements teams across 8 portfolio companies and has completed over $350 million in transaction value across acquisition, sale, and add-on transactions.

Prior to joining Prophet, Asad was an investment banker with Citigroup’s Natural Resources group in Houston where he worked on M&A advisory, Initial public offerings, and equity and debt financings.

Asad is graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BBA in Finance and a BS in Economics from Southern Methodist University and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.

Asad was born and raised in the DFW metroplex and comes from an entrepreneurial family. He grew up helping his dad at their convenience stores and understands the grind of running a business. He continues to provide strategical guidance to his family business.

When he is not working, Asad enjoys traveling to new parts of the world to learn about different cultures, and he is actively involved in non-profit work around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He is also a big Cowboys, Mavericks, and Liverpool fan.
